According to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, 2014 is the Year of the Horse and the element for this year is wood, so it is often referred to as the Year of the Wood Horse or the Year of the Green Horse, with green having an association of green leaves from trees.
This fun design draws together many of the symbols for 2014, featuring an image of a horse in an oriental paper-cut style inside an ornate circle frame in a wood oak effect, with the Chinese writing (or Japanese kanji) for horse also included in the frame in the same wood effect.
